Your data. Your choices.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data A Play collects, why it is collected, how it is used and protected, when it may be shared, and the choices and rights available to users of AbhhyamPlay.com.
Introduction
Welcome to A Play, a video-sharing platform operated through AbhhyamPlay.com. A Play enables users to watch, upload, publish, share and engage with videos through their personal “Screen”.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, when we may share it, and the choices and rights available to users.
By using A Play, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by applicable law, we will request it through a clear affirmative action. Acceptance of the Terms of Service does not automatically constitute consent for every optional use of personal data.
Scope
This Policy applies to:
- AbhhyamPlay.com and its related web pages;
- A Play mobile or progressive web applications, when introduced;
- A Play creator, viewer, administrative and support services; and
- communications sent by A Play in connection with these services.
This Policy does not apply to independently operated third-party websites, applications or services linked from A Play. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Eligibility and Children
During the initial startup phase, A Play is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. A person below 18 years of age must not create an account, create a Screen or upload content unless A Play has introduced an approved child-access process and obtained legally required verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian.
If we learn that a child’s personal data has been collected contrary to this Policy, we will take reasonable steps to restrict the account and delete the data, unless retention is required by law or necessary for child-safety reporting.
Personal Data We Collect
4.1 Account and Screen information
We may collect:
- name and display name;
- mobile number and email address;
- password in securely protected form, or authentication-token information;
- profile photograph, Screen image and biography;
- country, state, district, city or PIN code selected by the user;
- preferred language and content interests;
- age or date-of-birth confirmation; and
- account-verification and status information.
4.2 Identity and payment information
If identity verification, monetisation, payouts or paid services are introduced, we may collect legally required identification, tax, bank or payment information. Payment-card details should ordinarily be processed by an authorised payment provider and not stored directly by A Play, except where necessary and lawfully permitted.
4.3 Content and public activity
We collect videos, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, subtitles, tags, location labels and other material uploaded or submitted by users. We also process likes, dislikes, follows, playlists, comments, reports and shares.
Information that a user publishes on a public Screen or public video page may be visible to anyone and may be copied or shared by other users outside A Play.
4.4 Usage and technical information
When A Play is used, we may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device, operating-system and application information;
- log-in time, session information and security logs;
- pages and videos viewed;
- search queries;
- watch time, playback quality and completion percentage;
- clicks, reactions, comments, follows and shares;
- referring website or campaign; and
- crash, performance and diagnostic information.
4.5 Location information
A Play may use a state, district, city or PIN code selected by the user to display relevant regional videos. We may also infer an approximate area from an IP address for security, language selection and general content relevance.
Precise GPS location will not be collected unless a feature genuinely requires it and the user gives separate permission. Users may normally select their area manually or continue without enabling precise location.
4.6 Communications and support
We collect information contained in enquiries, complaints, appeals, copyright notices, support tickets and other communications with A Play.
4.7 Cookies and similar technologies
We may use essential cookies for authentication, security, preferences and service operation. Analytics, personalisation or advertising cookies will be used in accordance with applicable law and available consent choices. Further details should be provided in a separate Cookie Policy.
How We Use Personal Data
We may use personal data to:
- create and administer user accounts and Screens;
- upload, process, host, publish and deliver videos;
- provide playback, search, comments, likes, dislikes, follows, playlists and sharing;
- display videos relevant to a user’s language, interests and selected area;
- operate state-, district- and PIN-code-based feeds and campaigns;
- generate viewing, engagement and creator analytics;
- send account, security, upload, publishing and support notifications;
- moderate content and enforce our Terms and Community Standards;
- detect spam, scams, impersonation, fake engagement, malware and other abuse;
- process reports, grievances, copyright requests and appeals;
- prevent unauthorised access and protect users, A Play and the public;
- maintain, troubleshoot and improve the platform;
- comply with applicable law, court orders and lawful government requests;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
- provide optional marketing communications where the user has made an applicable choice.
We will not use personal data for a new incompatible purpose without providing an appropriate notice and, where required, obtaining consent.
Content Recommendations and Area-Based Distribution
A Play may rank or recommend videos using signals such as selected language, selected area, followed Screens, stated interests, recent activity, watch time and content popularity.
Area information is intended to prioritise locally relevant videos; it does not necessarily prevent a video from being available nationally or globally. Users should be offered reasonable controls to change their language, area and content preferences.
Legal Grounds and Consent
We process personal data for lawful purposes connected with providing A Play, responding to user requests, complying with legal obligations, protecting the platform and, where applicable, on the basis of the user’s consent.
Where processing is based on consent:
- the request will be presented in clear language;
- only data reasonably necessary for the stated purpose will be requested;
- consent will require a clear affirmative action; and
- users may withdraw consent through account settings or by contacting us, subject to legal or operational consequences explained at the time.
When We Share Personal Data
We may share limited personal data with:
8.1 Service providers
Hosting, cloud-storage, content-delivery, video-processing, analytics, communications, security, customer-support and payment providers may process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual and security requirements.
8.2 Other users and the public
Public Screen details, public videos, comments and other public activity are available to viewers according to the visibility selected by the user.
8.3 Affiliated organisations
Data may be shared with an Abhhyam-affiliated entity only where necessary to operate A Play, provide a requested service, maintain security or comply with law. Personal data collected by A Play will not automatically be used for unrelated shopping, employment, membership, investment or marketing programmes without a separate notice and legally required consent.
8.4 Legal and safety disclosures
We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, an enforceable government request, child-safety obligations, an emergency involving danger to a person, or to investigate fraud and protect legal rights.
8.5 Business restructuring
If the business or platform is reorganised, merged, acquired or transferred, relevant data may be transferred subject to applicable law, continued protection and any required notice.
Third-Party Links, Embeds and Sharing
A Play may contain third-party links, embedded material and sharing tools. When a user opens or interacts with them, the third party may receive information according to its own privacy policy. A Play is not responsible for an independent third party’s privacy practices.
Users should understand that sharing a public video link through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Telegram or another service is also subject to that service’s terms and privacy policy.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.
Indicative startup retention standards should be documented internally, including:
- active account data: while the account remains active;
- deleted-account data: removed or anonymised within a documented operational period, except lawful retention;
- security and access logs: for a limited security period;
- support and grievance records: for the period required to resolve and evidence the matter;
- payment and tax records: for the period required by applicable law; and
- removed content: temporarily preserved where necessary for appeals, repeat-infringement detection, safety or legal proceedings.
Before publishing this Policy, A Play should insert its final retention schedule in place of general descriptions wherever applicable law requires a specific period.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, password protection, role-based administrative permissions, security logging, backups, vulnerability management and service-provider reviews.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their credentials and should promptly report suspected unauthorised access.
Data Breach Response
A Play will maintain an incident-response process to identify, contain, investigate and remediate personal-data breaches. Where required by applicable law, we will notify affected individuals and the competent authority in the prescribed form and manner.
User Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, users may request to:
- access a summary of their personal data and its processing;
- correct, complete or update inaccurate personal data;
- delete personal data that is no longer required;
- withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing;
- change location, language and notification preferences;
- close their account and Screen;
- obtain information about available grievance procedures; and
- nominate another person to exercise applicable rights in the event of death or incapacity, where legally provided.
Requests may be submitted through Settings > Privacy & Data or by emailing privacy@abhhyamplay.com . We may reasonably verify the requester’s identity before acting. Some information may be retained where required by law, necessary for fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution or the defence of legal claims.
Account and Content Deletion
Users may delete individual videos or request account deletion through account settings. Deleting an account may remove or anonymise the Screen, videos and associated personal data, subject to:
- processing time required for active systems and backups;
- unresolved payment, grievance, appeal or copyright matters;
- legal-retention requirements;
- fraud, security and repeat-infringement prevention; and
- content already lawfully shared or copied by other users outside A Play.
A Play should display the expected deletion period and consequences before the user confirms deletion.
Communications
Operational messages concerning verification, account security, uploads, moderation, policy changes and support may be necessary to provide the service.
Users may opt out of optional promotional email, SMS or push notifications through account settings or the unsubscribe method provided in the communication. Opting out of marketing will not stop essential service or security messages.
International Processing
A Play and its service providers may process data in India or other permitted locations. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we will follow applicable restrictions and use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the processing.
Automated Tools and Human Review
A Play may use automated systems to process video files, create thumbnails or captions, detect spam, identify security threats, prioritise content and flag possible policy violations.
Automated flags do not necessarily establish a violation. Where an action materially restricts content or an account, A Play should provide a reason and an available appeal or human-review process, except where disclosure would compromise safety, security or legal obligations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements or operational changes. The updated version will display a revised “Last Updated” date. If a change materially affects users’ rights or the use of their data, we will provide an appropriate notice and obtain fresh consent where required.
Grievance Redressal and Contact Details
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact:
We will acknowledge and address complaints within the timelines required by applicable law. Users may also pursue remedies before the appropriate authority where available after using the platform’s grievance process.
Governing Framework
This Privacy Policy will be interpreted in accordance with applicable Indian law, including data-protection and information-technology requirements as and when their relevant provisions become enforceable. Users outside India may also have rights under the laws applicable to A Play’s offering in their jurisdiction.
We aim to handle personal data responsibly, provide users with meaningful choices, and improve our privacy, safety and transparency practices as the platform develops.
